Feed! Which is cheaper for you to use, premix, concentrate, or full price?

UpdateTime:2017-10-24Source: Shandong Fu Animal Husbandry Technology Co., LTD

Feed is something that pig farmers are exposed to every day. Premix, concentrate, full price, do you really understand the advantages and disadvantages of these feed types? Are you really using the right feed for you?

Premix, concentrate, full price, which is more suitable for your pig farm

Feed is one of the key factors for the success of pig farm as it takes the largest proportion in the cost of pig farm breeding. As something you use every day on a pig farm, do you really know what kind of feed you are getting? Premix, concentrate or full price, which is more suitable for your pig farm?

Premix = vitamin + mineral + carrier; Additional energy feed and protein feed are required

Advantages: (1) low cost of premix; (2) controlled raw materials, corn and soybean meal, etc. Fresh; (3) Health care, treatment and other convenient addition of medicine.

Disadvantages: (1) the amount of labor a little bit larger, resulting in the increase of labor costs; Need to inventory raw materials, increased the capital input, reduce the capital utilization!

Concentration = premix + protein feed; Additional energy feed is required

Advantages: (1) soybean meal price is high when the appropriate cost reduction; (2) preparation can not buy soybean meal, reduce the amount of labor.

Disadvantages: The cost is 0.1-0.2 yuan/jin higher than premix; Protein content because the added soybean meal is not enough so low, suitable for feeding miscellaneous pig!

Full value feed = premix + protein feed + energy feed; It is processed by grinding, mixing and granulating

Advantages: Easy to feed; (2) low moisture, easy to store; (3) less waste than powder.

Disadvantages: The cost is too high, compared with premix, it is 0.2-0.4 yuan/jin; (2) the composition is not controllable, because can not see the composition of the feed; By 70-90℃ granulation, will destroy the vitamin (about 50%), acid, enzyme preparation activity reduced by 80% or so, xylanase reduced by 90%.

Composition and characteristics of premixes of different proportions

In general, 1% premixes can be called core, while 1%, 3%, 4% and 5% premixes are common. To a certain extent, the smaller the proportion of formula, the higher the cost performance.

  (1) 0.1~0.5% Proportion

Ingredients: vitamins, trace elements, antioxidants, anti - mold agent, etc.

  Features: improve feed utilization rate, reduce formula cost, improve growth rate, ensure the health of livestock and poultry;

Use: large and medium-sized feed mills with higher equipment and technical level.

  (2) 1% and  2% Proportion

Ingredients: 0.5% series of amino acids, drugs and other growth promoters have been added.

  Features: save feed protein, avoid the trouble of buying single amino acids and drugs to promote growth and prevent diseases;

Use: in certain processing capacity and technical level of feed mills and breeding plants.

  (3) 4%5%6% Proportion

Composition: add some protein, calcium, phosphorus, salt on the basis of 1%.

Features: A complete variety of additives, only corn, soybean meal, secondary powder, can be prepared high-quality full price feed.

Use: feed mills, breeding plants and farmers.

Key points of premix processing technology

(1)Grain size: the production of feed additives or additive premix, the first encountered a process problem, is the amount of trace active ingredients is less, in the full price is not enough distribution; Only by reducing the volume of trace active ingredients can more particles be added.

(2)Carrier: Increase the particles of active ingredients and load the active ingredients into one. This material is called carrier. There are two kinds of carrier: inorganic carrier and organic carrier:

Capacity: Additive premix is composed of various feed additives with different capacities, thus stratification phenomenon will occur. To balance this capacity difference, it is necessary to choose the appropriate carrier. The capacity of organic carrier is small, while that of inorganic carrier is large.

Adhesion: the better the adhesion of the carrier, the easier the adhesion of the active components. Organic carrier has good adhesion, inorganic carrier has poor adhesion. Vegetable oil can enhance the carrier's adhesion and eliminate the electrostatic charge.

Water content: Water is an important factor for the dissolution and destruction of active ingredients, and the water content of organic carrier must be controlled below 10%, preferably below 8%.

Microorganisms: The less microorganisms the carrier has, the better. Rotten moldy materials shall not be used as carriers.

Which is better, self-ingredient or full-price?

The battle between self-batching with premixed or concentrated materials and full-price materials is mainly about cost. Full price material price is a little higher, but convenient, but also reduce labor costs, but from the total cost is higher than the ingredients. In addition to reducing the cost and making the raw materials fresh and controllable, self-ingredients also have an obvious advantage, that is, it is convenient to add auxiliary drugs for health treatment. At present, farmers friends may often add symptomatic treatment of drugs, improve the efficiency of some of the additive or natural Chinese herbal medicine, and so on.

Although the total cost of self-batching is lower than that of full-price materials, there are some uncertain factors. The biggest problem is that the purchase cost of feed raw materials is much higher than that of feed mills, and the quality of raw materials cannot be controlled, and the quality can only be judged by sensory perception.

Since the ingredients for the small dosage and have a short shelf life of raw materials (such as wheat bran) there is no guarantee that fresh, every time I buy a little, procurement and transportation cost and high, buy more and easy mildew or rancid climate) (especially guangdong, hainan, the last is often make do with, pig farms often don't realize is that the mold how much harm to the sow.

There are some small problems, some premix manufacturers in order to "highlight the effect", blindly will feed grade; Because the loss and processing cost are not included in the calculation of the pig farm, when the corn moisture is high, the loss can reach more than 1%. The cost of self-compounding is higher than the cost of full-price ingredients.

Full price and from the ingredients each have advantages and disadvantages, how to choose, after looking at the analysis, then combined with their own pig farm conditions is not understood?
